Alena Alice Adamkova
Is a Slovak-born British artist based in the West Midlands, UK. Her practice explores abstraction through the lens of fragmentation, rhythm, and visual disruption, drawing on the aesthetics of digital distortion and signal interference.
Working primarily with acrylic, she constructs layered compositions that balance structured systems with intuitive mark-making. Her work examines how instability, error, and fragmentation can resolve into coherent visual language, reflecting broader experiences of perception, tension, and transformation.
Alongside her artistic practice, she works within healthcare as a clinical educator. This environment informs a sensitivity to human fragility, resilience, and observation, which underpins the conceptual framework of her work.
Her work is held in private collections and she has exhibited internationally in the UK and Europe, including at the Saatchi Gallery, London, where her work was featured as part of ArtEvol 2025.
Her practice continues to develop through a series of works investigating the relationship between disruption and equilibrium in contemporary visual culture.
